“Easy Does It” The Dale Bruning Quartet Plays the Music of Charles Eakin (JLECD-8711

Dale Bruning and friends Rich Chiaraluce –tenor & alto/ concert & alto flutes/ clarinet, Mark Simon-bass, Paul Romaine-drums, have put together a very pleasant and enjoyable CD of tunes written by Charles Eakin. Everyone plays with much taste and feeling. Especially impressive is Rich Chiaraluce and the wide array of sounds he produces out of his various horns and woodwinds. Dale’s solo version on “Easy Does It” is also very lyrical and well recorded. Having heard Dale in the past, I was a bit surprised how much he reminds me of Jim Hall on this CD. Dale comps with his usual great feel and support. Definitely a CD worth having in your collection!
