Jack Wilkins

Guitarist Jack Wilkins is widely respected by his peers enabling him to assemble a strong cast. He leads a band with Jon Cowherd (p), Steve LaSpina (b) and Mark Ferber (d). Guest artists Samuel Torres (percussion) and Jeff Barone (rhythm guitar) appear on selected tracks. Jack's 15th album as a leader has a lot of variety with both popular and jazz standards, certainly enough to please most listeners. Wilkins does a great job with the melodies with seemingly effortless jaunts. He lit a fire on "Show Me" that kept us warm all the way through! He was cooking on "Walk Don't Run" and soothing on "These Foolish Things" showing balance with varied tempo and styles. It is a very good session.
